Information architecture vs. UX architecture

Hmmm, what to call it. IA is synonymous with web design, app design, all things digital in forming a framework for how information is organized. But since the information contained/organized ultimately affects user's experience, I am tempted to call it UX architecture.

Awesome caricature of BFA '13
I would suggest everyone ask for a PDF copy of the information architecture model from the 5 students I grouped together during our review. At minimum, capturing information accurately is important. As design practitioners, craft is not a trivial matter.

Second part of Exercise 1 as it continues:
  1. On 11x17 inch art board you are to place the screen shot of your website you created the IA from
  2. Screen capture should be 1024x768 pixels, but can be longer if important features are cut off below the fold
  3. Copy/past "javascript:resizeTo(1024,768)" into your URL input field to resize your browser window
  4. "Command + Shift + 4 + Space bar" to capture screen
  5. You are to capture the landing page and one page that links out from the landing page (from the main navigation), as shown during the class demo and complete the wireframes
  6. Screen shot on the left side of the page, wireframe on the right side of the page
  7. I've uploaded a PDF example of a wireframe
  8. Submit 3 pages of the PDF (IA + Wireframe 1 + Wireframe 2) as a single file and email it to "jeongkim [at] gmail [dot] com by 2 PM, Tuesday. Any submission later than that will be counted as late. Save the PDF using the "Smallest File Size" preset.
  9. Name your PDF file "DSGD186 Exercise 1 (Your first & last name)"
Concept works. But the green background contradicts the message.

Have a fun + safe weekend everyone!
